What Are Some Fun Successfull Pc Games For Kids To Learn To Read?
Well I honestly normally don’t turn to technology to teach a kid the basics. Yes I know they need hands on or one on one time…. I get that, there is a bigger issue on hand. I moved away from my siblings a while ago, whom I taught aside from their school. My mom is a single hard working mom. I honor that , but doesn’t push my special needs brother the way he needs to be. Alex( my little brother) is now in the second grade and he does not know how to read. I was working on that with him and suceeded on the basics two years ago before I moved away. Since then he has been babysat by the t.v. and it has consumed him. I no longer can be there to teach and I would like advice on some attention getting learning programs. This kid is really picky he likes things like sponge bob and buzz lightyear things that are really bright because he is half blind.
By the way my mom is asking my help as well and I don’t have any idea besides advizing her to sit down and read with him.
have you tried http://www.pbs.org they have some really good stuff on there for 3 an up. my neice loves it. shes 4. good luck and best wishes. also those leap pads are good to help learn reading and all. i got my neice one when she was 2 for Christmas and she still loves it, and you can always get them the newer books for all different ages and stages of learning. they are really good because they are also interactive.

Reader Rabbit. It is a software program. I am not sure how much because we got it from my husband’s work. It is awesome and a lot of fun for kids. It teaches reading as well as other skills. Also, just try kids websites. My daughter (5 years) loves all of them and they have excellent learning games for all ages: Nickjr. com;noggin.com;pbskids.com. Good luck.
Arthur PC games, Brain Play PC games by scholastics are great to teach children reading, science, history and math. My kids have fun doing the Arthur math games, they get to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Also, these sites are for children:
Discovery for kids: http://kids.discovery.com/games/games.ht…
National Geographic for kids: http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/
Scholastics: http://www.scholastic.com/kids/
other resources: http://kidshealth.org/Features.jsp?lic=1…
Teachers’ magazine: http://www.teachermagazine.org/tm/index.…
Well I suggest my daughters favorite website which is funbrain.com it’s for all ages and it is all learning related (which is why I don’t object to it)
