Learn To Read For Kids

I started piano lessons 5 years ago, I’ve progressed rapidly because I’ve always had an interest in music, and I already knew how to read some music. But I’m nowhere near the level of advancement of some friend’s kids who practice far less than I do.
Is it something innate in the immature vs. the mature brain? Is it just a lack of focus on my part? Is it the same reason why I can’t pick up a foreign language?

I am writing a childrens series where the characters are in 3rd grade. I know kids begin to learn how to write in script and simple multiplication and division- but I can’t seem to fnid a straight answer of what they learn in history/social studies, science and english/reading.

My girls are 4 and can tell time some what. They know at 8:00 they can get up, 4:00 nap time is over, 8:00 they should be in bed. They can tell me the time also only on digital clocks though.

I have always wanted an answer from teachers about this one. All through the school year, the students have to read a lot of stuff that they really have no interest in. Then when summer comes, they get bogged down having to read multiple books, again, that they have no interest in. So, when are they supposed to actually start to LIKE reading, if they never have time to read what they like?

I want a website where it has a progress page so I know what he completed

Evidently, my child’s resource room teacher does. My friend tells me her daughter didn’t learn ’til she was nine and the literacy counsel helps lots of older people to read all the time. So what’s up with this ‘reasearch’?

I need an activy that will teach preschoolers something about anything, I am a high schooler and it is a project I must do for that class, what is some activity I could do in order to do a presentation to the kids to learn something?
Reading a book to them was suggested or even just making something out of paper.
any help?
somethin about arts and crafts would be apreciated.
